Capitalize on Your Home Warranty to the Fullest

Can you put a price on Peace of Mind?

Buying a brand-new home can be a daunting commitment.  On the one hand, it’s exciting and you can have it built to your liking. On the other hand, houses are built so fast now, how can you be sure that any mistakes made were only cosmetic and truly negligible. Certainly, many builders offer a 1 or 2 year warranty, and some offer up to a 10-year limited warranty, and of course most people would be more inclined to purchase homes covered in some way. Check with your builder for the terms of your warranty and schedule inspections at the right time to get the most out of your warranty.

As a new home owner, the ease of having something fixed by just submitting a claim is invaluable.  But how do you know where the defects in your new home are, or how to describe them in the claim?  A home inspection at the end of the warranty period, and an annual home inspection can keep you on top of your home maintenance and help you take care of a new home.    Scheduling a home inspection just before you submit a claim for your warranty can make the difference between just asking for repairs to small things like nail pops and doors sticking; or more important things like small leaks in the attic and defective GFCI Breakers.

Our End of Home Warranty Inspection includes a Recall Check on your new appliances as well as a 120-Day Warranty (link) of our own, covering items in the home that were inspected as functional. The Recall Chek feature gives homeowners a way to know if one of their appliances has a recall for a dangerous defect.  By federal law, manufacturers must replace, or repair recalled items for free.  There is a database that logs all these recalls, but for a homeowner to find out about their specific appliances they would have to sort through hundreds of millions of recalls.  Our End of Home Warranty Inspection logs the appliance types, manufacturers and model numbers and potentially matches them to known recalls.  If an appliance is found to have a recall a report will be issued stating the nature of the recall, where the product was sold, how to remedy the defect, and how to get the item repaired or replaced for free, all included with the inspection.

If you are considering an End of Home Warranty Inspection call and let us know when your warranty ends so we can make sure to get it scheduled with enough time for you to review the inpsection report and make any claims. I can’t guarantee an immediate opening, but I will do my best to be flexible and accommodate any tight schedules.
